Aunque Galaxia todavía está aprendiendo a sentirse cómoda con la correa, está progresando. Nuestros pacientes voluntarios están trabajando con ella en el patio, ayudándola a entender que los paseos pueden ser experiencias agradables. Aunque aún no ha salido a pasear, su disposición para aprender es alentadora.

▶ Galaxia arrived at Los Barrios pound in September 2023 and was about 1,5 years old on arrival. She is a gorgeous cross breed that was found presumably abandoned in the streets and brought to the pound.

Galaxia: A Sweet Soul Yearning for Freedom

When Galaxia first arrived at the pound as a young girl, she was understandably wary of her new surroundings. Now, a year later, this gentle 2.5-year-old has truly come into her own, revealing her loving and affectionate nature despite her challenging circumstances.

Recently, Galaxia moved to a new patio area where she shares her brief daily outdoor time with a big, gentle male dog. This positive change has helped her confidence grow, and we're thrilled to see her thriving in the company of a calm canine friend. Given her success in this setting, we believe Galaxia could potentially be homed with a large, friendly, and laid-back male companion.

While Galaxia is still learning to feel comfortable with a lead, she's making progress. Our patient volunteers are working with her in the patio, helping her understand that walks can be enjoyable experiences. Though she hasn't ventured out for walks yet, her willingness to learn is encouraging.

Galaxia's sweet personality shines brightest when she receives one-on-one attention. She adores cuddles and belly rubs, soaking up every moment of human interaction. During her brief time outside, she delights in running freely and rolling in the lush grass, embracing every precious moment of freedom from her enclosure.

Sadly, Galaxia spends more than 23 hours a day confined to a small cage - a heart-wrenching reality that no animal should endure. This is no life for such a loving and spirited dog. Her days are marked by long hours of confinement, broken only by those fleeting moments of joy in the patio.
